Howell, N.J. - The No. 5 Nebraska bowling team will travel to New Jersey this weekend to compete at the Garden State Classic, hosted by Monmouth at Howell Lanes.
The teams joining the Huskers include 11 programs ranked in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 25: No. 1 Jacksonville State, No. 3 Youngstown State, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 6 North Carolina A&T, No. 9 Maryville, No. 10 Duquesne, No. 12 Mount St. Mary’s, No. 20 Fairleigh Dickinson, No. 23 Delaware State and No. 25 Niagara. Adelphi, Bryant, Coppin State, Dominican, Felician, Holy Family, Long Island, Molloy, Monmouth and Wilmington round out the remaining teams competing.
The first ball will be thrown Friday morning at 8:55 a.m. (CT) with five sets of five-game baker matches. The tournament continues with five traditional matches Saturday morning, beginning at 7:55 a.m. (CT). Competition on Sunday will start with two additional traditional matches, followed by a best 4-of-7 baker match, beginning at 7:25 a.m. (CT).
