Nebraska rifle student-athlete Emma Rhode won a gold medal in the open division and a silver medal in the juniors division at the Winter Air Gun Championships over the weekend.
Rhode posted a score of 628.3 on day one of the event before notching a 629.0 on day two, which qualified her for the finals. She registered scores of 250.3 in the open final to finish first and 248.9 in the junior final to place second. Fellow Huskers Alivia Perkins (620.0, 28th), Maddy Moyer (615.4, 49th) and Grace Corbett (610.0, 70th) also competed at the championships.
Rhode and the Husker rifle team will return to action at the Withrow Invitational in Murray, Ky. on Saturday, Jan. 18.
