Columbus, Ohio- Nebraska women’s swimming and diving team completed the third day of the Big Ten Championships with three school records and a podium finish. Maia Hall broke her previous record in the 100 breaststroke and earned the seventh place finish in this event. Beatrix Tanko and Anna Vlachou broke back-to-back school records in the 100 butterfly.
Tanko notched a 52.77, breaking her 2024 record of 53.16; shortly after, Vlachou grabbed a 52.63, breaking the record again. Both Huskers qualified for the C final, where Tanko placed 18th with a time of 52.82 while Vlachou grabbed 19th place, clocking 52.83.
Jazmyn Lunn logged a personal best in 100 fly (54.43), finishing 38th in preliminaries.
Marissa Laurin (31st, 4:17.30) and Madison Lloyd (x4:21.38) earned personal bests in the 400 individual medley. Additionally, Gena Jorgenson finished 25th as an alternate (4:15.16).
In the 200 freestyle, Riley Miklos (32nd, 1:48.47) and Jenna Brown (49th, 1:51.12) earned personal bests. Giulia Marchi added a 33rd-place finish, clocking 1:48.54.
Hall notched a 59.94 time in the 100 breaststroke preliminaries to break her previous record from 2024 (59.97) and earn a spot in the A final. The senior from Whitby, England, swam a 59.99 to earn the seventh spot.
JoJo Randby qualified for the B final in the 100 breaststroke, placing 13th with a time of 1:00.40. Randby earned 13th place with a time of 1:00.65 in the finals. Four other Huskers competed in the 100 breast, with two personal best performances by Katy Zboinski (33rd, 1:02.99) and Jenna Gogel (x, 1:03.22). Amelia Riggott (28th, 1:02.04) and Sydney McCracken (29th, 1:02.19) also swam the breaststroke.
Virginia Consiglio competed in the 100 backstroke, finishing 36th with a time of 54.76.
In the 400 medley, Consiglio, Hall, Vlachou and Tanko notched a top-10 finish and school record time of 3:36.12. This is the Huskers fourth relay record in the Big Ten Championships.
On the three-meter board, Abby Baxter placed 18th, scoring 271.35. Kelsey Clairmont added a 26th-place finish (254.85), while Nettie Knapton secured 218.90 on the board placing 44th. Antonina Harned placed 48th with a score of 205.10.
After day three, the Huskers sit in 10th place with 256.5 points. The final day of competition is Saturday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m. (CT). Live results are available on Huskers.com and the meet will be streamed on B1G+.
