Christopulos, Nitache Named to the 2025 U.S. Senior National Team

Louisville, Kenn. Three Huskers competed on day two of the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup — Taylor Christopulos, Alex Nitache and Caden Clinton. Christopulos and Nitache earned a spot on the 2025 Senior U.S. Men’s National Team. Christopulos earned third place in the all-around and Nitache earned a silver medal on vault and eighth place in the all-around. 

Nitache and Christopulos competed in the all-around. Christopulos earned sixth on pommel horse and vault, fifth on rings and p-bars and tenth on high bar, earning him third place in the all-around. Nitache earned second on vault, fifth on parallel bars and seventh on high bar to place eighth in the all-around. Clinton placed ninth on pommel and p-bars to finish 23rd. 

The scores from the second day of the Winter Cup were combined with those from the first day to provide the gymnasts with a cumulative total for the entire competition. The total scores are listed at the bottom.

Floor 
Christopulos earned a 13.65 to place 13th, Nitache’s performance earned him a 12.30 to place 15th, and Clinton’s 11.85 placed him 20th.

Pommel Horse
Christopulos led the Huskers on pommel horse with a 13.05, earning sixth place. Clinton put up a 13.15 to grab ninth place. Nitache improved his day one score from 10.65 to 11.25 to earn a top-25 finish. 

Rings
Christopulos increased to 13.30, good for fifth place with a total of 26.40. Nitache earned a 12.05 on day two to place 18th. 

Vault
Nitache upped his score on vault with a 14.20, which, combined with his day one score of 14.15, totaled a 28.35 to take sixth. Christopulos earned a 13.80 to put a cumulative score of 27.90 on the vault. 

Parallel Bars
Nitache earned a 13.70 for fifth, Clinton earned a 13.05 for ninth and Christopulos scored a 12.50 for 13th. 

High Bar 
Nitache earned seventh place with a 12.05. Christopulos earned 10th place with a 13.30 and Clinton scored 11.80 for 18th.
