The No. 21 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team (2-10, 1-5 Big Ten) will travel to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Big Fours meet on Sunday, March 2. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. (CT) at the Covelli Center and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
The Huskers will face off against three Big Ten opponents – No. 3 UCLA, No. 22 Ohio State and Rutgers.
Last Time Out
NU fell to No. 13 Minnesota on Saturday, 197.075-196.500, at the Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn. Nebraska claimed four event titles – Isabel Sikon on vault (9.875), Sophia McClelland on floor (9.925), Emma Simpton on beam (9.900) and Emma Spence in the all-around (39.450).
Sikon’s 9.875 on vault tied her career high and was a season best, while Whitney Jencks tied her season and career high on vault with a 9.800. Ayzhia Hall set a new season high on beam with a 9.875.
Scouting the Competition
UCLA sits at the top of the Big Ten with a perfect 6-0 conference record and 9-2 overall. The Bruins have notable victories over No. 7 Michigan State, No. 15 Michigan and No. 23 Maryland. They average a 197.253 team score.
Junior Jordan Chiles has won Big Ten Gymnast of the Week four separate times this season and is tied for first in the nation on floor exercise.
The Buckeyes are 1-5 in conference and 2-7 overall, with an average team score of 196.007. The Scarlet Knights are 1-5 in the Big Ten and 12-6 overall, and possess an average score of 194.872.
