Maia Hall and JoJo Randby head to Columbia, Mo., to compete in the Mizzou Last Chance meet March 1-2. The swimmers will have the opportunity to improve their times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events in hopes of qualifying for the upcoming NCAA Championships.
Hall, a senior from Whitby, England, is coming off a strong performance at the Big Ten Championships. She raced to a school-record 59.94 in the 100 breaststroke prelims to help claim a seventh-place finish at the conference meet. She added a personal-best 2:10.88 in the 200 breast on her way to a 10th-place finish at the Big Ten meet. Hall captured 13 individual titles across her events during the regular season.
Randby, a senior from Omaha, Neb., also posted strong finishes at the Big Ten Championships, including a 13th-place finish in the 100 breast and a 23rd-place finish in the 200 breast. She owns season-best times of 1:00.34 in the 100 and 2:13.20 in the 200 breaststrokes.
Both Hall and Randby have already met the NCAA B qualifying standards in both the 100 (1:01.22) and the 200 (2:13.28) breaststrokes this season, but will be looking to shave time off their season bests to improve their chances of earning an invitation to the NCAA meet.
Prelims are set for 10 a.m. (CT) and finals beginning at 5 p.m. (CT) both days.
