Wilson Named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships

Nebraska high jumper Tyus Wilson was selected as the Big Ten Men’s Field Athlete of the Championships on Wednesday by the Big Ten Conference.

The senior from Serling, Kan., cleared an indoor personal-best at last weekend’s Big Ten Championships to claim the high jump title, his third career. His mark of 2.25m (7-4 ½) is tied for 8th-highest in school history and XX in the world. That height is also the third-best clearance in the NCAA this season. Wilson won four event titles this season, including the Graduate Classic, Mark Colligan Memorial, Nebraska Tune-Up and Husker Holiday Open.

After four years at Nebraska, Wilson is a three-time First-Team All-American and a three-time Big Ten Champion. Wilson is the fourth Husker in a row to take home this award.

Cade Moran and Brooklyn Miller were named Nebraska’s Big Ten Sportsmanship honorees.
