The Nebraska women’s golf team wraps up its 2024-25 regular season schedule by traveling to College Park, Md., for the Terps Invitational (April 6-7).
The two-day, 54-hole event on the 6,244-yard, pay-72 layout of the University of Maryland Golf Course opens with two rounds of continuous play on Sunday, April 6, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. (CT). The tournament concludes with a shotgun start for Monday’s final round at 7:30 a.m. (CT).
The Huskers will be part of a 14-team field that features Big Ten counterparts Maryland, Michigan and Penn State, along with Delaware, Georgetown, Harvard, High Point, Howard, James Madison, Navy, Notre Dame, Richmond and Southern Illinois.
Miu Takahashi leads Nebraska to Maryland. The senior from Nasu-machi, Japan, was the Big Ten Golfer of the Week (March 20), after leading Nebraska with a fifth-place finish with a 215 (-1) at the Spring Break Shootout (March 17-18). She was also NU’s top finisher at the Clemson Invitational (March 28-30), tying for 45th in a loaded 84-player field with a 218 (+8). Takahashi carries a 74.56 stroke average as the only Husker to compete in all 27 rounds this season. Hannah Kono will play out of the No. 2 spot in the Husker lineup in Maryland. The sophomore from Enkoping, Sweden tied for 15th with a 223 (+10) in Florida and carries a 74.46 stroke average over 24 rounds for the Big Red this season. She was Nebraska’s No. 2 finisher at the Clemson Invitational, tying for 60th with a 223 (+7) including a career-best final-round 69 (-3).
True freshmen Danica Lundgren and Olivia Lovegrove will occupy the No. 3 and No. 4 spots in the Husker lineup at Maryland. Lundgren owns a pair of top-five finishes this season, including a tie for third with a career-best 207 (-9) at the PDI Intercollegiate - hosted by UCF to open the spring (Feb. 2-4). Lovegrove, who carries Nebraska’s best stroke average (74.33) over six rounds, will be making her first career collegiate lineup appearance.
Sophomore Arden Louchheim will round out Nebraska’s five-player lineup in Maryland, while freshman Eden Lohrbach will compete as an individual outside the Husker lineup.
