Nebraska Director of Men’s Basketball Strength & Conditioning Kurt Joseph is busy this week, balancing getting the Huskers ready for the College Basketball Crown semifinals and presenting at the Performance-4 Clinic.
Joseph, who has been with the Husker men’s basketball program since 2021, will present in San Antonio on Friday before returning for Saturday’s game with Boise State. He is one of six basketball performance and analytics speakers invited to present in front of over 100 collegiate coaches, brand partners and NBA personnel in conjunction with the men’s Final Four. The conference highlights best practices in the sports performance field, as all six presenters are among the nation’s finest in their respective fields. Joseph will be presenting on the relationship between mindfulness-based intervention and sports specific performance in college male basketball players.
At Nebraska, Joseph oversees training and has played a major role in the development of players such as NBA draft pick Bryce McGowens and All-Big Ten performers Brice Williams, Keisei Tominaga, Rienk Mast and Derrick Walker.
Prior to joining the Husker staff, he spent two-plus seasons as an assistant strength coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves and had stints with the Iowa Wolves, New York Knicks Brooklyn Nets, and LIU Brooklyn, where he played collegiately and graduated in 2013.
