Huskers Conclude 2024-2025 Season in NCAA Second Round

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team ended its season with a 195.675 in Session II of the second round of the NCAA Championships in Washington on Friday.

No. 2 Oklahoma earned a 198.025, No. 15 Auburn scored a 196.950, and Illinois notched a 195.725. Oklahoma and Auburn advanced to the regional final on Sunday.

Individual event finalists will be determined after all sessions are finished on Sunday.

Rotation One
The Huskers kicked off the night on bars, notching a 49.300 as a team. Emma Spence notched a 9.950 to lead the rotation, followed by Whitney Jencks (9.850) and Sophia McClelland (9.850). McClelland tied her season high. Olivia Burns and Isabel Sikon both earned a 9.825, with Burns securing a career high. Emma Simpton (9.300) finished out the lineup.

Rotation Two
NU moved to beam, where they registered a 48.325 as a team. Sikon (9.900) and McClelland (9.850) led the event. Spence (9.800) and Simpton (9.725) followed for the Big Red. Lauren Homecillo (9.050) and Ayzhia Hall (8.850) rounded out the rotation.

Rotation Three
Nebraska continued the competition on floor with a 49.150 team score. McClelland led the team with a 9.900, followed by Spence and Homecillo both earning a 9.850. Reese Baechle (9.800), Jencks (9.750) and Allie Gard (9.700) finished out the rotation.

Rotation Four
The Big Red concluded the session on vault with a 48.900. Hall led the Huskers with a 9.825, followed by Spence, Sikon and Jencks all scoring a 9.775. McClelland (9.750) and Katie Kuenemann (9.700) completed the competition.
