2024 (Senior)
Rahmir Johnson has played in eight games with two starts this season, missing two games due to injury. He has carried the ball 41 times for 180 yards while adding 19 catches for 165 yards and one touchdown. He leads Nebraska's running backs in receptions and receiving yards.

Johnson had 11 carries for 50 yards against UTEP. He rushed nine times for 33 yards against Colorado and also led Nebraska with a career-high eight catches and 49 receiving yards, including an 18-yard touchdown. Against Northern Iowa, Johnson had four yards rushing with two catches for 28 yards. He had four carries for 17 yards against Illinois and caught two passes for 14 yards. Johnson had five carries for nine yards at Purdue with a 15-yard reception. He had five carries for 34 yards against Rutgers while also catching three passes for 40 yards. At Indiana, Johnson gained six yards on two carries while catching three passes for 19 yards.

Johnson missed the Ohio State game due to injury. He returned to post three carries for 27 yards against UCLA. Johnson then missed the USC game due to injury.

2023 (Junior)
Johnson played in the first three games including one start before suffering a season-ending injury against Northern Illinois. Johnson ran for 65 yards on 12 carries, caught three passes for nine yards and had three kickoff returns for 102 yards.

Johnson set up a Husker touchdown at Minnesota by returning the opening kickoff of the second half 63 yards. At Colorado, Johnson had 11 carries for a season-high 66 yards, including a career-long 44-yard run. He also caught a three-yard pass and had a 23-yard kickoff return against the Buffaloes. Johnson started against Northern Illinois and had one kickoff return for 16 yards. 

2022 (Sophomore)
Johnson saw action on offense and special teams in 2022, playing in 10 games. He rushed for 85 yards on 19 carries while catching one pass for seven yards.

Johnson had his first carry of the season with a 17-yard rush at Purdue. He carried the ball four times against Minnesota and added a seven-yard reception. He had two carries for 13 yards at No. 3 Michigan. Johnson led Nebraska with 52 rushing yards on 12 carries in the season-ending win at Iowa.

2021 (Redshirt Freshman)
Johnson played in each of the season’s first 10 games with seven straight starts before he missed the final two games of the year with an injury. He ranked second on the team with 112 carries, 495 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns and was second with two receiving touchdowns and sixth with 16 catches and 197 receiving yards.

Johnson had four carries for 11 yards and a 13-yard kickoff return at Illinois. The next week against Fordham, Johnson gained 19 yards on five carries. Against Buffalo, Johnson had four carries for nine yards. He made his first career start at No. 3 Oklahoma, and he totaled 103 all-purpose yards against the Sooners. He rushed 11 times for 42 yards at Oklahoma and had three catches for 49 yards, both of which were career highs. Johnson also returned one kickoff for 12 yards against the Sooners. 

He totaled 100 all-purpose yards at No. 20 Michigan State, setting a career high with 19 carries and 76 rushing yards. Johnson started and had 12 carries for 74 yards against Northwestern with a career-high two rushing touchdowns. Johnson had a career-high 172 all-purpose yards against No. 9 Michigan. In addition to rushing for 67 yards on 17 carries, he caught seven passes for a career-high 105 yards. Johnson hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass against the Wolverines, the first touchdown reception of his career, and he also had a career-long 43-yard catch.

At Minnesota, Johnson had 11 carries for a career-high 83 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game early with an injury. He had a career-long 29-yard run against the Golden Gophers. Johnson had 13 carries for 52 yards against Purdue, and he also caught a 12-yard touchdown pass against the Boilermakers. He rushed for 62 yards on 16 carries against No. 6 Ohio State and added two catches for 10 yards.

2020 (Covid Season)
Johnson played in six games as a redshirt freshman. He had eight carries for 30 yards and one touchdown and added six catches for 33 yards. Johnson had a then-career-long 17-yard reception at Ohio State and also returned three kickoffs for 54 yards. He had a three-yard carry and an eight-yard reception against Illinois. At Iowa, Johnson had five carries for 23 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown run. He also had a five-yard reception. Johnson had a four-yard carry and a two-yard catch in the win at Purdue. He had one carry and a five-yard reception at Rutgers.

2019 (Redshirt)
Johnson played in four games as a true freshman in 2019. Johnson gained 64 yards on 21 carries with one touchdown, and he also had one catch for 12 yards. Johnson carried the ball three times for nine yards in his career debut against Northern Illinois. He also saw action in the backfield against Northwestern and Purdue, although he did not have a carry in either game. Johnson played a large role in Nebraska’s 54-7 win at Maryland, gaining 55 yards on 18 carries, including a one-yard touchdown run. Johnson also had a 12-yard reception at Maryland for his first career catch.

Before Nebraska (Bergen Catholic HS)
Johnson rushed for more than 2,300 yards in his career as a state champion at Bergen Catholic High School in New Jersey, where he was one of the nation’s top running back prospects. 

Johnson led Bergen Catholic to a 10-2 record and state runner-up finish as a senior in 2018, when he was named a third-team all-state selection and a first-team pick among non-public schools. Johnson ran for 1,334 yards and scored 12 total touchdowns, becoming the first Crusader to rush for 1,000 yards in a season since 2009. Johnson had seven 100-yard rushing games as a senior and averaged 111.2 yards per game. He was the USA Today Super 25 national star of the week after rushing for 130 yards in the Crusaders’ 34-22 win against No. 5 Grayson (Ga.) High School. That performance helped Johnson win the overall Super 25 Top Star award as the best performer among the 15 national weekly award winners.

He rushed for 555 yards and six touchdowns on 90 carries as a junior, when Bergen Catholic won the state title. Johnson also caught 11 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns and had 23 kickoff returns for 428 yards as a junior. He rushed for 462 yards and three touchdowns on 86 carries as a sophomore.

Johnson was also a standout on the track at Bergen Catholic, clocking career bests of 10.50 in the 100-meter dash and 21.46 in the 200-meter dash. One of the fastest runners in the state, Johnson won sectional titles in the 100-meter dash each of his last three seasons and was third at the 2018 NJSIAA Championships. He won a sectional title in the 200 meters in 2017, when he also finished fourth in the long jump. Indoors, Johnson finished second in the 200 meters at the 2018 NJSIAA Meet of Champions and second in the 55-meter dash at the 2017 NJSIAA Championships. Johnson also competed in sprints at the New Balance Indoor National meet as a freshman, sophomore and junior.

A four-star recruit, Johnson was rated as the No. 6 all-purpose back in the country by Rivals. He only visited NU but had offers from numerous Power Five schools, including Minnesota, North Carolina, Pitt and West Virginia.

Personal
The son of Angela Johnson, Rahmir was born on Jan. 5, 2001. He is an advertising and public relations major and graduated in December of 2023. Johnson has volunteered his time with the Black Student-Athlete Summit and the N-Volved Leadership Group, and is a four-time member of the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship teams.
