2024 (Senior)
Yanni Chronopoulos competed in seven regular season meets along with participating in the NCAA Qualifiers and the NCAA Championships. His high score on the season was a 14.55 on pommel horse during the Huskers’ road victory against Ohio State. He also set a career best on high bar at 14.20 in the tri-meet with Army and Greenville.
Chronopoulos was also a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
2023 (Junior)
Chronopoulos saw action in three regular-season meets before competing at both the NCAA Qualifiers and the NCAA Championships. His high score on the season came with a 13.80 on parallel bars at the NCAA Championships. He set two career bests on parallel bars and high bar.
Chronopoulos earned a Nebraska Bronze Academic Medallion, as well as a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
2022 (Sophomore)
Chronopoulos competed in five meets during the 2022 season. He claimed four personal bests throughout the year, including three against Penn State. He notched a 13.95 on pommel horse, a 13.75 on rings and a 13.75 on parallel bars. His season high on high bar came at the Rocky Mountain Open with a 13.40.
2021 (Freshman)
Chronopoulos competed for the Huskers in three of eight meets during 2021, earning season-high scores on pommel horse (12.95), rings (13.05) and vault (13.85).
Before Nebraska
Chronopoulos joined the Huskers after training in Mississauga, Ontario, where he was coached by Zhaohui Huang. Chronopoulus was a member of the Canadian Junior World Championships team and the Canadian Junior National Team.
Personal
Yanni was born on March, 18, 2002. He is the son of Nick and Iryna Chronopoulos. Yanni has one sister, Maria. He likes to spend his free time with friends and family. Chronopoulos is a nutrition, exercise and health sciences major.
“I chose Nebraska because of the belief and support shown toward me from the team. Also because I really enjoyed the team, coaches and being in Lincoln.”
Chronopoulos is majoring in criminology and criminal justice. Chronopoulos chose Nebraska over California, Minnesota and Michigan.
