Steve Steiner rejoined Nebraska Athletics in July of 2024 as a security and guest relations assistant. Steiner serves as one of the first in-person contacts for daily visitors to the athletic department, while also providing a safe environment for Nebraska's student-athletes, staff members and guests.
Prior to the Huskers, Steiner spent three years as maintenance and grounds at Columbus Public Schools in Columbus, Nebraska.
Steiner previously worked in the same role with Nebraska Athletics from January 2018-March 2021.
Before joining the athletic department, Steiner was employed at various places including Columbus Community Hospital where he was in security and was a certified CPI Instructor. He owned and operated STAR Vending for 10 years. He loves soccer and he served on many boards, including AYSO, Columbus Club Soccer and was a girls soccer coach at various levels for nine years.
Steve graduated from high school in 1984, and is working towards his college degree. He and his wife of 35 years, Arlis, reside in Platte Center, Neb., and have on daughter, Taylor.
